A tribute to Jim Marshall
2010 September 22

NEW YORK – Maybe you think that photography makes immortal. Surely Mr. Jim Mashall shots preserve the memoir of so many stars, from Jimi Hendrix to Janis Joplin, from Jim Morrison to Johnny Cash, who told something about themselves, in front the camera, before the final farewell.
Mr. Marshall, photo-reporter, portraitist, icon of image-journalism is died on March 23, 2010 in his sleep, at age of 74, in Manhattan, some days after the publication of “Match Prints”, an intensive and ingenious volume of photographs, where his images are “matched” with Timothy White’s works: an interesting head-to-head betwen two friends, colleagues, artists.
