PARIS -One of the thing I love in Paris is to see al that The Kooples billboards around the streets. You can find them in every other metropolis, but here… they are much more lovely! Maybe it’s because The K. is a brand born here or beacause in its clothes there is always a parisian touch. The advertising campaign starts from the same idea marking the collections: clothes exchargeable from him to her, not dully unisex, but designed to be interpreted in a different way from a man or from a woman too. The BoBo Style of the swinging London is clearly present, as well as that shabby chic look indefeasible from creatives, artists, designer all around the world. The Kooples is an Elisha brothers idea, the same who invented Comptoir de Cotonnier that, by the way, started by the intuition to create shops were mother and daugther could find right things, indipendently by the age. How to say: exchange dresses is a great way to be in love!

TOKYO – Dynamic Headphones were developed in conjunction with AshidaVox, one of Japan’s older audio company. The minimal retro design is similar to the AshidaVox ST-90, but the internals have been reworked to drovide better sound and comfort. Sound is well-balanced and true to the original source. Instead of a normal urethane, a low-rebound urethane is used fhe the ear pad to make lomg hours of listening more comfortable. A lot technology, a great attention to details for a product that seems so simple!

MILAN – Caruso “The Tailoring Factory”… sounds strange but it is true! From 1958 Caruso combines industrial production and artisanal tailoring in a story that looks perfectly italian. From Naples to Soragna, near Parma, generation after generation, Caruso is a legend in menswear thanks to high level productions realized for the greatest international brands. In addition, from a few years, there is a little and gorgeous “Caruso” collection that is hearthbreaking thousand of (male) fashionistas with an impressive style made of exclusive fabrics, elegant colors, great attention to details and a touch of creativity that youngers will love. For the upcoming summer Caruso choices Naples, Paris, Seoul and LA as the compass points who dedicate as many looks: italian elegance, french chic, oriental modernity and west coast glamour are ispirations for intelligent, sophisticate, amusing outfits designing the ideal map of contemporary style!

MADRID – Rocking Race Jamboree International Festival, that goes on every february in Torremolinos, is the most extravagant, amusing, fashinating and philologically perfect celebration of fifties. Rules are clear: to swich off devices, to dress like James Dean or Ava Gardner, to twirl on r’n'roll rithms, to honk on huge Harleys; the festival, moreover, presents top level musicians and performers united by the same passion. This pics, shooted by Jon Nazca some days ago during this year festival, are the clear proof that a jump to Jamboree 2013 may be a great idea!

PARIS -They were born in Spain, in early fifties and today are absolutely up-to-date with their vintage look so romantic and chic. Mailed cotton and canvass upper, saddle-stitched welt and leather inner sole, were the classic “leisure wear” par excellence, true precursors of modern sneakers. Today quality is the same, but there are many new colors matings. For men and women, I love them in canvass…

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA -Men- Spring Summer 2012 from Simon Eléphant on Vimeo.
PARIS -I’m really mad about the video clip launching SS 2012 Menswear Collection by Maison Martin Margiela: very Margiela, uncompromisingly Margiela that, by the way, is opening his own on-line shop.

BERLIN -There is an aspect very interesting for me in fashion: the relationship that it’s able to create with other expressions of our living and thinking as well as visual arts, theather or ballet and many other again. The link beetween fashion and sport, otherwise, today is stronger than ever, so powerful, vivid and rich of brilliant ideas: by the way the perfect mix of elegance and praticity is what, sooner or later, we are looking for. From 2003 Mykita is one of the brands that better known how to re-design and re-interpretate spectacles with the lighter, clean, essential and so confortable design. Moncler, in the same years (under Remo Ruffini’s lead), gives a new life and the greatest allure to the classic ski coat. Today Mykita + Moncler present a collection of sunglasser designed for skiing but ultra chic in the city: models realized in Mylon, a special ultra light polyhammide, super resistant and perfeclty fitting on each face. All that in classical Moncler’s colours: red, black and blue.

TOKYO – 1% Products is a design factory createb by the super-acclaimed Nendo Studio to respond to a really uncommon mission: to project common use things ready to industry and, al least, to product just 100 pieces, not less, not more. In this way they try to demonstrate that today the gap between artisans and indistry is not so strong: technology can repeat in million of pieces a chair that, just 20 years ago, mecessitate the skill of an expert cabinet maker or, otherwise, a simple bulb may be glamourous as a limited edition piece. In fact, the 4 bulb lamps we present are a perfect example: it’s genial the idea to transform glass in a fabric or to chisel it like a vase. So the more simple buld becomes a sophisticated object with a great useful value because it’s able to create astonishing light effects! At this point the logic solution can be to start and industrial production… but instead there are just 100 pieces on the planet! We can imagine the nice sensation (so rare in this days) to be part of a so exclusive club of owners!
